My First Concert

Maggie had an eventful weekend. On Saturday we went to an outdoor concert in Downtown Raleigh. Yet again, she slept through the whole thing with her first ride in the Baby Bjorn...that thing is awesome by the way! On Sunday she got to meet her new friend Pascale who was born even tinier than she was and has a full head of hair. We're a bit jealous of the hair but figure maybe by age 2 we'll get there! Then we went into downtown Chapel Hill for some yummy pizza at Peppers with more friends. Needless to say, the whole fam was pooped and ready for mega zzzzs when we got home. We continue to work on the smiling thing...have kind of plateaued in that area for a few days but hopefully we'll pick up again this week :)

Smiles, Swaddles and Sleep

Maggie - 4 1/2 weeks

Maggie - 5 weeks (taken today...a little more than 1 month :)

Hey guys! I had my one month check-up today. I'm 8 pounds 3 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Watch out Finn and Luke...I'm catching up! My mom learned the hard way that you always plan to feed the baby BEFORE the doctors appt. not after. Oops! As you can tell I'm starting to smile :) Swaddling and sleep definitely still make me happy. I've started to open my hands and like to feel lots of different textures. I'm also more interested in the sounds and lights on my bouncy seat and my toys on the floor so I can keep myself entertained now for 10 minutes on a good day...Past that I demand my mom to reposition me or hand over my pacifier!

Week 4

This week I enjoyed a visit from my Aunt Emily and cousins again! I love
that we all live so close together. I'm really liking cuddling with my mommy lately. My smiles are just beginning to pop up here and there and I've started to open my hands more to feel things. I've let out 2 or 3 coos and man does my mom get excited when she hears those...what is she, a speech pathologist or something?!

Happy Birthday Dad...and Me!

Yesterday we celebrated me being 1 month old and my dad's 35th birthday! My grammy Jo-Jo and Grandad Waugh are here to enjoy the festivities. I got to go out for my first steak dinner. Yum! Today we're heading out to Old Time BBQ to enjoy some good ole pork n beans...my dad's favorite. It's getting a little bit easier to take me out but I have to admit I still really like being at home and sleeping in my bed instead of my carseat :)

Some of my Firsts

I've had an eventful week. Here are a few of my firsts:

-Starting to hold my head up during tummy time - for about 3 seconds but hey you have to start somewhere!

-Turning my head from left to right on my back AND on my tummy

-Following a toy from side to side (thanks for the help with this one dad!)

-Had my first playdate yesterday...I slept right through it, imagine that!

-Sleeping in my crib for the first time right now. My mom is psyched about this :)

-Last but not least, my parent's favorite....I officially have a belly button...woohoo! My mom and dad are going to give me a "big girl bath" tonight. Should be interesting :)

I still spend a lot of my time sleeping and eating but am slowly becoming more alert and have recently started to enjoy some time on my play mat. Tummy time is not my favorite but my mom keeps on trying! My parents continue to have their daily belly laughs at my pooping abilities. They can't believe a baby so tiny has so much pooping power!

2 Weeks and Lovin' Life

I am 2 weeks old now and officially weighing in at 6 pounds 13 ounces. I'm back to my birthweight...woohoo! My mommy was ecstatic to hear that news as she's been working hard to put some meat on my baby bones. Yesterday I had my 2nd Drs. appt. and then went to visit my daddy at work for lunch. I definitely do not like to be in my carseat for long periods of time just yet and I let my mommy know it! My nana is leaving today and I'll be on my own with my mom. Wish us luck!

I've been busy....

I had my first BBQ on Sunday. Yesterday, I went shopping for the first time! I managed to sleep through both so everyone could have a good time. Today my cousins and my Aunt Kristin came over for an outside picnic lunch. We are all enjoying the gorgeous Raleigh weather. My mommy is getting stronger by the day and really enjoying not being pregnant anymore so she can indulge things like sneaking nana's raw cookie dough, laying on her back to sleep, giving my daddy big hugs, moving at a faster pace and just plain being able to breathe without my head up in her ribs! My daddy is back to work...we miss him but get excited when he comes home with a smile and gives me a kiss.
